為了想把ubuntu 8.10內建之Openoffice 2.4版改為 3.0版,在論壇上發問,常常都只得到片片斷斷的資訊,今天好高興終於摸索完成,願意將按裝過程,跟其他像我一樣的新手分享.
1.先上網下載OpenOffice3繁體中文版,
Ooo_3.0.0_LinuxIntel_install_zh-tw_deb.tar.gz
我把它存放在事先自己新增的Openoffice3資料夾內.
2.進入家目錄內點選該檔案並解壓縮.
3.再用系統內之‘Synaptic套件管理程式’將2.4版的Openoffice完全移除.
4.開啟終端機,將路徑改入已解壓縮的資料夾：
cd Openoffice3/OOO300_m9_native_packed-
1_zh-TW.9358/DEBS
5.執行指令 sudo dpkg -i *.deb 即可解開其它的壓縮檔.
6.離開終端機,打開家目錄,點選資料夾
Openoffice3/OOO300_m9_native_packed-1_zh-TW.9358/DEBS/desktop-integration內之壓縮檔openoffice.org3.0-debian-menus_3.0-9354_all.deb
7.此時會出現套件安裝程式之視窗,再點選'按裝套件',即會自動按裝程式.
8.按裝完成後到‘應用程式—辦公’內,即可看到Openoffice3的選項,大功告成.

照下面的方式安裝

1.先下載新版open office3

2.移除所有open office2檔案,到終端機下以下的語法
sudo apt-get autoremove openoffice.org-common*

3.進入至Open Office3 資料夾內的DEBS
cd DEBS/desktop-integration

4.執行
openoffice.org3.0-debian-menus_3.0-9354_all.deb

5.回到DEBS資料夾且執行
終端機執行 sudo dpkg -i *.deb

6.再進入至Open Office3 資料夾內的DEBS
cd DEBS/desktop-integration

7.再執行
openoffice.org3.0-debian-menus_3.0-9354_all.deb

8.安裝完成
就可以再應用程式>辦公> 看見新版的Open Office 3

well 今天發現到一個新方法，可以更新openoffice。
安裝tweak，針對ubuntu的系統調教程式，如果是8.10的tweak，在「應用程式」裡面「第3方軟體來源」當中，有openoffice 3的來源，只要打勾並且到synaptic裡面update，就可以直接更新了。

還是你建議的這個方法較方便簡單,謝謝！
首先，在 /etc/apt/sources.list 加上：
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main
接著：
# sudo apt-get update
# sudo apt-get upgrade
# sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
這樣就升級完成了！

我的是8.04，照您的方法仍無法升級。

首先，你要用終端機在/etc/apt/sources.list 加上下列完整的兩句, 不是僅僅紅字http網址的部份：
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main
deb-rc http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main
完成後再按照其餘指令一步一步執行下去應該可以才對.
