Nekro, a 3D Action game for Linux has reached its Kickstarter funding goal recently and it will be probably the first major game made using ShiVa 3D engine.

Electronic Arts (EA) has a presentation on first day (May 7th) of Ubuntu Developer Summit (UDS). What could it be other then EA's plans of bringing new games to Ubuntu?

Ubuntu already has a way of distributing paid proprietary games through Ubuntu Software center and Canonical is already in touch with Valve to ensure proper support of Steam on Ubuntu. Are they pitching Ubuntu as next big gaming platform?

AusGamers recently interviewed Diablo 3 game director Jay Wilson and they asked him about possible Linux support after all the recent Steam on Linux talk. There are no surprises in his reply but it pretty much sums everything that big game studios have to say on Linux support.

前面兩個是 Quake 一代的資料片

Ubuntu 當然可以原生安裝
Quake 1~3 的程式部分都已經是開放原始碼了
至於資料檔案，Windows 底下和 Linux 底下用的都是同樣的檔案
只要把 Windows 版的一些資料檔案 (pak之類的) 拷貝到 Linux 的 Quake 相關目錄底下就可以了
甚至還沒開放原始碼的 Quake 4 也是這樣做的 (主程式有 Linux 版)
