這個Howto這是寫給新手的看的, 但大概沒啥鳥用, 因為 7.10聽說就要內建Compiz Fusion了...

很多人反應Compiz Fusion不穩, 不過我個人覺得它比Beryl甚至是Ubuntu內建的Compiz都還穩定多了!

Anyway, 有興趣嘗鮮的人請用吧:

注意(1): Virtualbox/Vmware等虛擬機器, 並不支援3D特效


注意(2) 首先請務必確定自己的顯卡有沒有支援, 驅動有沒有裝好:
系統 => 偏好設定 => 桌面特效 : "啟動"

如果能正常顯示則表示顯卡有被支援

如果不幸畫面變白, 請勿亂動鍵盤滑鼠 , 等40秒之後會自動回復預設值

開特效畫面變白只有有兩個可能:

1. 顯卡硬體不支援 : 這個無解
2. 顯卡硬體有支援, 但相關驅動沒裝 : 這個請搜尋論壇以及WIKI

確定正常後, 請關閉Ubuntu預設的桌面特效, 開始安裝超炫的Compiz Fusion:

1. 套件庫認證
先下載金鑰到桌面:
http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb/DD800CD9.gpg

Synaptic > 套件庫 > 認證 > 匯入/Import > 瀏覽桌面選DD800CD9.gpg

2. 加入套件庫位置
Synaptic > 套件庫 > 第三方套件, 新增, 依序貼上：

deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy
deb-src http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb feisty eyecandy

3. Synaptic請按重新載入按鈕, (Synaptic不用關掉)

4. 避免新舊版衝到:

如果先前有裝過beryl, 請先確定Beryl或是Ubuntu內建桌面特效有確實關閉, 然後 Synaptic 按搜尋 > "依名稱搜尋" > 找出所有 "beryl", "compiz", "emerald" , 並按右鍵選擇"標記為移除" ==> 套用
移除後不用關閉Synaptic


你也可以用指令一次移除所有舊版 - 在終端機打:

sudo apt-get remove compiz* beryl* emerald*


5. 開始安裝Compiz Fusion

Synaptic 按搜尋 > "依名稱搜尋" > 找出所有下列關鍵字:
compiz
compiz-gnome (如果你是用Kubuntu，就選擇套件compiz-kde)
compizconfig-settings-manager
compiz-fusion-(所有類似名稱的套件全部選擇)
emerald
emerald-themes

每個都按右鍵, 並標記為安裝 > 套用

或是可以用指令一口氣安裝全部, 在終端機打:

sudo apt-get install compiz compiz-gnome compizconfig-settings-manager compiz-fusion-* emerald-*

這樣就裝好了! Control Alt Backspace 重新登入吧!

6. 測試:
完成安裝之後，請Alt+F2打開程是啟動器，接著輸入：

compiz --replace -c emerald

7. 安裝Compiz Fusion系統匣管理器: Fusion Icon
先裝這2個套件:

終端機內(或是Synaptic)輸入:

sudo apt-get install git git-core compiz-dev

再來到這個網頁:

下載這個: http://forum.ubuntu.org.cn/download.php?id=15664&sid=c1c9a32626223c407465d810274f702a

下載好, 雙擊滑鼠安裝

安裝成功後, 啟動Compiz Fusion 管理圖示: ALT+F2 輸入:

fusion-icon

如果一切正常, 系統匣會出現一個新圖示, 可以用那個快速切換2D或3D桌面設定, 以及視窗裝飾等等...

也可以放在系統>偏好設定>作業階段 讓他啟動時執行

PS.: 除了偶然發現Compiz Fusion穩定度較高以外, 這是我捨Beryl改用Compiz Fusion的主要理由:

上次再次嘗試，結果mplayer會隨機的不見視窗外框，amsn 0.97RC1則是一定會不見視窗外框。
不過看到vegbird兄一直在大推，所以又試了一次，不過問題還是一樣。但是，後來在Ubuntu forum裡找到解法，原來只要到CCSM中的Workarounds裡的Qt Window Fix關閉就可以。
目前都還算是正常，吃資源也比beryl少一些些，不過是不是真的比beryl穩定，就還要過一陣子看看了。

不過，Fusion-icon的安裝，我用.deb裝都會失敗，用git去下載source來編譯、安裝就正常了

另外有一個困擾我的部份，就是怎麼把gnome-panel的陰影關掉啊？上方的panel一直有陰影，讓我有點困擾

我的意思是說下面那一列像蘋果的面版圖標示去哪下載的?thanks

真是感激不盡，我也有碰到相同的問題，以為是bug之類的，沒想到只要輕易的將Qt Windows Fix關掉即可。

其實問題還很多:

Mplayer 無法全螢幕顯示, 這點目前還無解, 以下是有解的

* GStreamer (The default video player in Ubuntu, totem-gstreamer, and any video player that is based on the gstreamer backend)
o Open a terminal and type "gstreamer-properties". Press Enter.
o Click the Video tab.
o Under Default Video Plugin select "X Window System (No Xv)".
o Click Test to verify that video playback is working (you should be able to see the standard TV testing colour stripes).
o Click Close

* VLC (VLC is not installed by default; you need to search in the package manager, then install)
o Start VLC and click on Settings, then Preferences.
o Expand Video and then expand Output modules. You will notice several options for output device.
o Select the item Output modules, and notice the checkbox at the bottom right that says Advanced options. Check the box, and now you have the option to select a different output device.
o Pick X11 video output
o Click on Save and you are set!

* MPlayer (Mplayer is not installed by default)
o Start Mplayer
o Right-click on the screen and select Preferences
o Select the Video tab and under Available Drivers select "X11 (XImage/Shm)"
o Click Save and restart the program for the setting to take effect.
+ Some users reported that MPlayer may not be able to show videos in full screen.

* Xine
o Start xine
o Click File, then Configure and then Preferences
o In experience_level select "Master Of The Known Universe" so that all available settings are visible.
o Select the tab for video.
o Under Driver select "xshm".
o Restart xine.
+ The same process enables Totem that has the totem-xine backend configured.

系統 > 偏好設定 > Compiz Config Setting Manager >
左邊欄位搜尋: Workground
點進去, 看到 " Qt Windows Fix " 不要打勾

目前我暫且用Totem播放多媒體檔案, 沒遇到問題

還是等Compiz Fusion更新吧...
