請問有人成功在5.04安裝vmware嗎?

還沒有裝 kernel header吧？
uname -r 查一下版本
apt-get裝一下再安裝VMware試試

VMWare 安裝的時候，一定要有 Kernel Source，所以在 Debian & Ubuntu 中一定要安裝 Kernel-Header ，請安裝你使用和核心對應的 Header。

另外，也需要 gcc , make 這些套件，所以也要：
apt-get install gcc, make

但是在 Ubuntu 中 5.10 就有問題，因為 VMWare 5 要用 gcc3.4.2 來編譯。但是 5.10 版中用的是 gcc4，所以沒有辦法繼續安裝下去。 VMWare 5.5 Beta 版已經出來了。官方規格中有支援 Ubuntu 5.0.4(實驗性質）

5.10版安裝VMWare可以先執行
# export CC="/usr/bin/gcc-3.4.5"
再安裝

其他該注意的就如同樓上所言
我用此方法安裝成功 也可順利執行
