昨天與kubuntu大戰了一個下午 終於把驅動裝了上去
如果開機時加入nomodeset 那nvidia x server 那邊就可以看到完整資訊如第一張圖
但問題來了如果開機用正常不加入nomodeset的話 nvidia x server 那邊選項就會只剩下
application profiles
和 nvidia-settings configuration
另外我用的是從nvidia nvidia 網站上下載來的驅動程式

那這樣算是裝成功了還是沒裝成...

1. nomodeset

The newest kernels have moved the video mode setting into the kernel. So all the programming of the hardware specific clock rates and registers on the video card happen in the kernel rather than in the X driver when the X server starts.. This makes it possible to have high resolution nice looking splash (boot) screens and flicker free transitions from boot splash to login screen. Unfortunately, on some cards this doesnt work properly and you end up with a black screen. Adding the nomodeset parameter instructs the kernel to not load video drivers and use BIOS modes instead until X is loaded.

Note that this option is sometimes needed for nVidia cards when using the default "nouveau" drivers. Installing proprietary nvidia drivers usually makes this option no longer necessary, so it may not be needed to make this option permanent, just for one boot until you installed the nvidia drivers.

所以 預裝 nouveau 開源驅動
如果你使用的 程式 有高於 nouveau 開源驅動 所能夠提供功能 的需求
當然可以安裝 Ubuntu 套件庫 提供的顯卡驅動
如果 Ubuntu 套件庫 提供的顯卡驅動 所能夠提供功能 還無法滿足 你使用的程式 的需求
可以安裝 nVidia 官網提供的顯卡驅動
有沒有必要 完全看你使用的 程式的需求而定
備註
1. Ubuntu 套件庫 提供的閉源顯卡驅動 也是基於 nVidia 官網提供的閉源顯卡驅動
2. 早期的 nVidia 的顯卡及官網提供的閉源顯卡驅動 與新版的 Ubuntu 有沒有相容性問題 需要先查證 如果查證結果 不相容 就只能使用 nouveau 開源驅動

安裝 閉源驅動 過程 使用 nomodeset 開機 安裝成功率 較高
安裝 閉源驅動 完畢 重開機 就沒有必要 使用 nomodeset 除非是進行 Recovery Mode
備註 Recovery Mode 就是預設 nomodeset

那像我安裝時會跑出 the distribution-provided pre-install script failed
之後我選yes繼續執行安裝安裝完開機是可以以正常開機但是就是跑出像我問題問的那樣 這樣算是有安裝成功嗎？？？

把結果 直接 copy 貼上來

他顯示出 Could not find any typelib for AppIndicator3
怎麼感覺沒安裝好...
